Take some time to think about who your target website visitors are, where they usually spend their time online, and what you want them to do once they land on your website.
Additionally, consider how long you need visitors to be on your website until they complete the desired action. It’s important to set goals because this will allow you to know if you’re accomplishing what you set out to do and allow you to make adjustments if necessary.
Optimize Your Website for Search Engines
To ensure that you have the best chance of attracting organic traffic, you’ll need to optimize your website for search engines. Here a few quick fixes that you can implement today to start driving more traffic to your website.
Optimize Title and Meta Description
The title and meta description of your page are some of the most important ranking factors that you can influence. You should try to use your main keyword at the beginning of the title whenever possible. To help rank for long tail keywords, you can also add modifiers such as “2019”, “best”, “guide” or “review” to the title.
As for your meta description, it should contain your main keyword as well as one or two secondary keywords that you want to use. It’s important to remember not to force the keywords in but rather use them in a natural way, if possible.
You can use the SERP Preview Tool to check how your title and meta description would appear in Google’s search results and make sure that they fit Google’s character limit.
Use Descriptive URLs
You should use short descriptive URLs for all your website pages as Google has confirmed that the first few words in a URL can influence the ranking of your page, with some studies also showing that short URLs also have an advantage. Make sure to use your target keyword in the URL as well.
Improve Website Speed
Google has confirmed that website speed is a ranking factor. You should aim to have your website load within 3 seconds or less.
Check how fast your website loads by using a tool such as GTMetrix and do the following if your website is too slow:
Use a CDN – By using a CDN (content delivery network), you’ll be able to serve your website pages to your visitors from a server that is closest to them, improving the average loading time.
Use Plenty of Internal Links
Internal links help Google index your pages faster as well as allow your visitors to uncover other content on your website that they might find interesting. Add at least two internal links to each of your pages.
When it comes to optimizing your images for search engines, you should try to use descriptive and keyword-rich image names as well as add alt tags for all your images so that search engines and people whose browsers don’t display images can know what your images contain.
Design a Mobile-Friendly Website

Nurture Email Leads
Once you get people on your email list, you can’t just start spamming them with links to your content. You need to slowly develop a relationship with your email subscribers, and give them time to begin to trust you.
Start by sending your subscribers a welcome email, telling them what kind of content they can expect from you in the future. Let them know how often you’re going to email them and make sure to remind them why they’re getting emails from you.
After sending out a welcome email to your leads, you can start emailing them some of your content that you believe might interest them. Remember not to overdo it. Email your list a maximum of two times per week.
An easy and cost-efficient way to drive more attention and traffic to your website is to interview experts and thought leaders from your industry.
Start by creating a list of influential people in your industry. Find their contact details and send them an email asking if they would be interested in being interviewed for your website. Once you’ve found someone willing to be interviewed, create a list of questions and topics that you will discuss with them.
You can either perform the interview in person, over a phone call, video call, or an email.
Let your interviewee know about what kind of questions and topics you’re going to discuss so that they can prepare. Make sure to also do additional preparation on the topics yourself. This will allow for a better and more interesting discussion.
Associating your brand with influential people and industry experts will help to improve your credibility. Experts from your industry will also most likely have a large follower base that you’ll be able to take advantage of once they inevitably share the interview with their followers.
Once you complete and post the interview on your website, make sure to promote it further by posting about it on your social media pages as well as sending a link to the interview to your email subscribers.
Start Driving More Traffic to Your Website Today

Conduct the interview over a phone call, video call, or an email. Once you complete the interview, edit it and post it on your website. Ask your interviewee to share the interview with their fanbase as well. Finally, promote the interview on your social media pages and send it to your email list.
